About Me

In General

I’m an up-and-coming programmer with the ability to be a generalist. I’ve only just entered into the professional video games industry, but have long been invested into programming and game development. During the majority of my education I was improving my programming skills. Such as being a student volunteer for the school IT department, and spending two years at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE). I was able to graduate from AIE with an ”Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development”.

While I haven’t been in the industry for long, I have learned a lot from my education, industry experience, and personal projects. I have had a hand in programming things from UI to core gameplay systems. In doing so, I’ve worked with teams of varying size, culture, and personalities. Creating a spectrum of different games; mobile, VR, 2D, 3D, RPG, hack ‘n’ slash, puzzle, and horror games.

What about this makes me a diamond in the rough?

With my generalistic knowledge of multiple programming areas, I’m able to easily; adapt, learn, and apply my knowledge to help the team create amazing work. While I find AI and systems the most interesting, I love programming in itself. So, I enjoy all forms of programming, and welcome the challenge of debugging an error.

Due to my experiences with a multitude of different teams, I’m easily able to mould into the team, to not only get along but provide any needed support. I’m very welcoming and don’t judge a book by its cover. I understand that I have space for growth thus I am able to happily take on board feedback, and quickly work to implement the feedback.

What about my personal hobbies?

I’m sure it comes without a shock, but I have a grand passion for video games. I’ve played almost every genre, but I’d have to say single player role-playing games are my favourite. I also have a love for role-playing board games, with Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition taking the cake. When I get some spare time, going out and about for a bike ride or walk is always refreshing. It’s a great way to keep my health in check, and sometimes it provides some breathtaking views.
